2 Month No Show

Well, the fan mail has been pouring in, wondering where I have wandered off to, so I figured it was time to return from my hiatus and entertain the masses. To everyone who expressed their concern, thank you, I'm fine, we've just been busy being busy.

What have we been up to over the past two months?

Well... a simple check of the Google Calendar, which by the way we swear by, shows that we've been to a friend's wedding, Lauren has been to the DR, Beckham came to town (prior to ending his season), we spent a weekend in Ocean City, our parents finally met, and at work, it's been about the busiest as it has ever been in the 7 years I've been there (more on that next week).

So, the summer is now over and we're entering what has to be one of my favorite times of the year... Fall...

What does Fall mean to me? OBX, FFL, NCAA, and NFL... translated... Outer Banks with my family, Fantasy Football, Penn State games, and Skins games. This is the time of year where a man's happiness is directly proportional to how his teams do during the weekend... when we'll ask one another, how did you do, and we'll respond 2-2 or 1-3 or if it's a great weekend... 4-0. What does this mean? That your fantasy teams won, Penn State won, and the Redskins won.

Anyway, with week 1 upon us, Socks but no Drawers takes on the Scrappy Irishmen in the WeatherBug league, and Young Action takes on the DC Lions in the AFL. Penn State hosts Notre Dame, while the 'Skins host the Dolphins. It's too early to call the fantasy games since I have yet to see how my guys are going to do this season, but I'll call for a convincing Penn State win, and a close Redskins win.

For those of you who care, and are still reading, I'll paste my fantasy rosters at the end of this post... To everyone else, the hiatus is over. Please check back as the fall progresses to stay up to date on all of the sports happenings, the wedding planning, and all of the exciting things happening at WeatherBug. Until next time...

What's New?

I hadn't realized that it's been a solid month since I've actually had time to log on and blog about what's happening... My apologies to all 2 of you who actually read this to keep up on our lives around here.

Between one of the busiest and exciting months we've had at WeatherBug in years, the beginning of wedding planning, moving roommates in and out, and planning my buddy's bachelor party it's been almost too much. But somehow, we find a way to put our head down and keep moving, which in this case is what the mantra has been.

We're only a few weeks away from me being able to talk more about what's happening at the Bug, and once revealed, you'll have a better understanding of what has been keeping me busy night and day and weekends... But until then...

Anyway, today is the beginning of Jeff's bachelor party. Seen here.

For those of you following at home this weekend, depending on air card availability, I will do my best to document the weekend and keep you posted...

I just can't guarantee it won't be censored... ;)

Exciting New WeatherBug Product

I'm excited to announce the launch of a new product from WeatherBug, WeatherBug Alert. Whether you want one-click access to live conditions and the forecast for your neighborhood, or severe weather alerts delivered to your desktop, WeatherBug Alert is right for you. For those of you concerned about downloading big desktop apps, or using a lot of memory, WeatherBug Alert is less than 400KB in size, and uses less than 5MB of RAM when running.

And if you're happening across this blog outside the U.S., never fear, WeatherBug Alert works everywhere!

Click here to download it and let me know what you think!

Murry Krismas!

This morning the group arrived with the finishing touches and the piece to put us over the top... our Daytona racing game. We made a little youCaster invitation to send to the WeatherBug employees inviting them to partake in the contest. You can see that here.

So far, the reaction seems to be very positive and enthusiastic about our entry. We'll find out tomorrow how we fared. As they say though, today, we're all winners!

Buggin' Holiday Decorations

Tomorrow a cross-functional team will judge the 2006 WeatherBug holiday decorations contest. Instead of competing against the departments as an individual, we poached two Marketing team members and the Product group embarked on a "Blue Collar" Christmas theme. We weighed different options... like PC Christmas, the wrong holiday, corporate Christmas, the Office Christmas, etc. I think we made a pretty good choice, though the Marketing team has thrown their best efforts against us, though on the other complete end of the spectrum.

Below are shots of our team decorating tonight, and I'll let you know how the judging goes tomorrow.

Here's a shot of Mike hanging the beginning of the icicle lights that stretch across all of the cubes on our row.

The group didn't think I could fit a tube sock on my head. I proved them wrong and probably did some brain damage in the process.

Here's a shot down our aisle as the team began hanging our "decorations" from the ceiling.

Our Christmas tree.

Here's the group at the end of the night posing in front of our tree.
